About Sandra
I'm so glad you are here!
I’m Sandra Rey, a Colombian-born designer with a background in architecture and a lifelong love for drawing.
Before I ever designed wallpaper, I was studying how spaces feel. Architecture taught me to notice proportion, light, and the quiet structure that shapes a room. That foundation still guides the way I create today.
I’m drawn to details many people pass by. The curve of an arch. The rhythm of a garden. The layered softness of a flower. Those small observations often become the beginning of a collection.
My process is thoughtful and unhurried. I sketch first, refine carefully, and consider how a pattern will truly live inside a space, how it will interact with light, wood, fabric, and everyday life.
Creating feels deeply personal to me. I see creativity as a gift I’ve been entrusted with, and I approach my work with gratitude, discipline, and care.
When I’m not designing, you’ll likely find me traveling, walking through museums, noticing architecture in old neighborhoods, or studying flowers a little too closely.
Thank you for being here. It truly means a lot.

He is risen. Happy Easter ✨
Stillness felt like the right collection for today. Not just the name. The mood. Soft color, quiet pattern, the kind of thing you pause at rather than rush past.
Grateful to @creatsyofficial for always having the best mockups around, and for this challenge.

Celebrating the Easter season with Petals & Wings ✨
This season always reminds me of the hope, beauty, and renewal we have in Jesus, and it felt especially sweet to see this collection come to life in such a soft spring setting.
Thank you @creatsyofficial for these beautiful mockups and for such a lovely creative challenge.

Sharing my entry for the @golden.coil cover design contest ✨
Every spring, peonies come back in my backyard and they just make me happy. That feeling is where this cover started, what if you could have that same beauty in your hands every time you grabbed your planner?
Swipe to see the final design and a little of the sketch process behind it.

Duck Island began in the details.
Before the final patterns, before the repeats, before the collection had a name, it lived here first in my sketchbook, in the ducks, the cottage, the garden textures, and the quiet details that stayed with me from that afternoon in London.
That is where my collections begin: slowly, by hand, and piece by piece, until a place or moment starts to take shape.
These sketches became Duck Island.
A surface pattern collection available for licensing.

One pattern. Three moods.
River of Trees was designed with walls in mind. The scale, the movement, the way the branches layer... something shifts when you see it in a room.
Inky Forest for spaces that aren’t afraid of depth. Warm Parchment for light and warmth. French Grey for quiet elegance.
This is part of my Duck Island collection. Three colorways. Three completely different rooms. Same drawing.
Available for licensing. DM me to see the full collection.

This is what Azure Terrace was made for.
A space that feels collected, intentional, timeless.

This design started with a feeling.
I walk streets that no one else walks. I stop at details that no one else notices — old tiles, carved doorways, the geometry hidden in a crumbling wall.
That’s where Azure Terrace came from.
Entering it in the @spoonflower Mediterranean Hues Challenge felt natural. Voting opens tomorrow and I would love your support. 🩵

I came back to Sophisticated, a pattern from Couture de Mémoires, with fresh eyes and a clearer sense of what it needed.
The heart of the design is still the same, but revisiting it gave me space to refine the balance, soften the details, and bring more intention to the overall feel.
Shown here in two color directions, each with its own mood and the same sense of structure and elegance.
Available for licensing.

Strong design is only part of the story.
Every pattern I create is built with structure in mind. It needs to repeat seamlessly, align with precision, and translate beautifully into production.
Stillness was developed beyond a single print. It was designed to work, not just to look pretty.
Available for wallpaper and textile licensing.

Every collection needs a piece that quietly holds the room together.
Still Point was designed to create continuity, extending the palette and allowing a space to feel layered rather than busy.
It supports the hero print without competing for attention.
Available individually or as part of the Stillness collection.

Same repeat. Different scale.
Wallpaper carries presence.
Fabric requires movement and proportion.
When I design a pattern, I consider how it will live on the wall and in soft furnishings.
Stillness was built with that dual life in mind.
Available for wallpaper and textile licensing.
