Some gifts carry more than what we can see. They carry time, thought, friendship, and love. 🤍

With dear friends visiting from Canada, South Africa, and England, I wanted to create something personal for each of them.

Something useful, beautiful, and small enough to travel home, but made especially for them.

These little needle cases brought together two things I love: sewing and seeing my own fabric designs become something tangible. Each one was made with a different combination of my surface pattern designs, carefully chosen for the friend who will receive it.

The lovely Needle Case pattern is by Sharon Holland, @sharonhollanddesigns. I loved how this cleaver sewing pattern transforms from a compact case into a beautiful little organizer for thread, scissors, pins, and needles.

There is something so meaningful about turning quilting cotton into a handmade gift and allowing a fabric design to become part of someone’s life.

After sharing the sewing process in my stories, it feels so sweet to finally bring the finished quilted bag to the feed. From cutting the fabric, to quilting, adding the zipper, and finishing all the little handmade details, this project was such a joy to make.

Pattern by @zuloarte. I am so thankful for the beautiful design, thoughtful instructions, and helpful videos that make learning new sewing skills feel possible and enjoyable.

And of course, my favorite part was seeing my own fabric design become something practical and beautiful. As a surface pattern designer and fabric designer, it is always so special to see a pattern move from the screen, to printed fabric, to a finished handmade bag.

The scale, the movement, the quilting texture, the little details… it all feels different once the fabric becomes part of a real object.

Now I may need to make Bag 2 too.

Whisper of Peonies has always been one of those floral patterns close to my heart.

It was inspired by the peonies that bloom in my backyard, and this week I felt inspired to revisit the design through a more interior focused lens, with new monochromatic colorways for wallpaper, fabric, and home decor.

In dusty blue, it feels classic and calm. In soft sage, it becomes quiet and botanical. In warm taupe, it feels romantic, collected, and understated.

I love how color can completely shift the mood of a vintage inspired peony floral, especially when imagining it in bathrooms, powder rooms, bedrooms, curtains, cushions, bedding, and layered home interiors.

Whisper of Peonies is now available on Spoonflower in these new colorways, and is also open for wallpaper, fabric, and home decor licensing inquiries.

Yesterday I asked you to pray for me because I had never sewn a zipper before… and here she is. My little quilted makeup bag is finished. 🧵

This project had so many firsts for me: the quilting, the gathered detail, the zipper, the little bow pull… and honestly, every step made me love sewing even more.

The pattern is by @zuloarte I bought it some time ago and I’m so happy I finally made it.

The fabric is one of my own designs, Sophisticated, from my Couture de Mémoires collection. It has since been redesigned, but I still had this little piece from when I first created it, and it felt so sweet to finally sew with it.

I am still very much learning, but there is something so fun about seeing fabric become something useful and beautiful in your hands.

Also, my seam ripper and I are still friends. 🤍

A tiny sewing victory, and definitely not the last zipper.

This strawberry pattern started as a hand-painted botanical artwork in my studio and slowly became a repeating surface pattern design.

I love seeing how a simple painted motif can grow into something that feels ready for fabric, pillows, wallpaper, and home decor. That transformation from original artwork to textile design is one of my favorite parts of being a surface pattern designer.

Finished my first quilted cushion 🧵

I made this little puff quilt cushion for the extra chair in my studio, using fabrics I had printed from the first version of my Couture de Mémoires collection.

It feels so special to finally turn my fabric designs into something real, soft, and useful. And of course, the blues feel right at home in my studio… because you all know I love blueeee.

I learned so much through this sewing and quilting project. It is not perfect, but I think that is part of why I love it.

Now my little chair is more comfortable, my studio has one more handmade touch, and now I understand why quilting can become addictive… I am already thinking on the next one.

I think my love for Paris started long before I ever visited.

When I was in my third year of architecture at University, we had to choose a city to study, and I chose Paris. My professor had lived there, and through that project I started learning about the city, how it was planned, how it was built, and all the details that make it feel so timeless.

I remember falling in love with the architecture, the streets, the ironwork, and the elegance of it all. For years, I dreamed of visiting Paris.

So when I finally went for the first time, it felt very special. I came back full of inspiration and started drawing motifs by hand with ink and a pointed pen, trying to bring a little of that beauty and quiet elegance into a pattern collection.

This collection is very dear to my heart because it carries that memory, from studying Paris as an architecture student to finally walking through the city in person.
Seeing these patterns translated into curtains and interior mockups for my TwoPages Design Contest entry feels so special. I love imagining how artwork can live in a home, bringing softness, history, and a little everyday elegance into a space.

Before the phone case, before the mockups, before the collection came together, there were tiny leaves, acorns, berries, mushrooms, and little botanical details drawn by hand.

I love this part of the surface pattern design process because it reminds me that even a small sketch can become something more. A motif can become a pattern, and a pattern can become a product that lives in someone’s everyday life.

I created Acorn Path for the Casely Art Call, imagining how a cozy autumn pattern collection could live on phone cases, tech accessories, stationery, mugs, and small lifestyle products.

This collection is inspired by the quiet beauty of fall: scattered leaves, tiny acorns, berries, warm stripes, soft neutrals, and those little seasonal details that make autumn feel special.
